Oh giorno felice! Oh Happy Day !. My new fenced playground is still muddy from this wonderful rain. Susie, my Sis, showed me how to drink from a puddle in the red, muddy clay. Much joy ! Then I figured I would dig it a little deeper and see if there are Greyhounds in China. Caught red-pawed. Not a problem, my Mom just turned the hose on my feet before bringing me back inside. We had fun at the Meet and Greet last Sunday. It was too exciting, and I had to rest my weary bones on the weight scale. Susie, was the official Circus Barker, bringing 'em in, waving all the Marks over, smiling like the cutie pie she is. "Come one, come all, give me a little scratch, and then let my friend Susan tell you all about how greyt greyhounds are". Next Sunday - we are going to the Pet therapy - hope there are lots of laps to rest my chin and hands for petting. See ya' then. Ciao, ciao.

Buon giorno - It turns out that my sweet and fun-loving personality is really a disguise. I am a total delinquent my Mom says ! She says this because I ripped to shreds every single little frou-frou ball she had in a bowl on the coffee table in the family room - I mean really - I smuggled each one into the Library room where my crate is - I confined my mess...sheeesh. I'm going to share my delinquency with Dewey and Kane when I see them at the Meet & Greet this Sunday - I bet they'll be impressed ! Ciao-Ciao.

My fence is in! I have a place to run and play with Susie. It's been icy, rainy and, therefore, muddy, so I have to have my paws rinsed off with warm water before I can go back in the house. My Mom says my personality is starting to shine. I know how to squeak my toys, play tug-of-war with Susie and muscle in for extra kisses and hugs. I have a little nibbling thing that I do with my front teeth when I'm happy - like nibble on my Mom's arm, or Susie's neck. I have to be careful tho' because I have sharp little teeth. Well, I'm pretty pooped out from my walk and romp so I'm going to catch some nap time. Ciao, ciao.

I am fit as a fiddle ! My vet says I am so relaxed, and I adjusted from the track life very well. I was plopped on the floor for most of my exam - just acting relaxed and cool. That's me - Cool Coty. Thanks to my foster parents - and Dewey & Kane and the kitties, for introducing me to my new life. Way cool. My Mom says I am Perfect Dog # 2. Susie, my sister, is Almost Perfect Dog # 1 - she's a slipper thief though which is the reason for the "Almost". Gotta run - nap time.
Ciao, ciao.

One more day until turkey day. We had two wild turkeys cruising the yard and driveway yesterday. Boy - you think I'm big, those were two BIG birds I can tell you ! There's so many new smells and sounds out in this neck of the woods, it's exciting to go outside. My exercise yard will be fenced next and I can run around and play with Susie - with my Mom supervising, of course. Right now, we walk up to the mailbox and I lope back down. She has to jog to keep up. She thinks I look like a rocking horse. I'm going for my wellness check today - its cold out and I'm going to wear my red Tummy warmer. I bet the ladies in the vet's office will faint from my handsome look and style ! Ciao, ciao.

Wooooo-eeeeeeeeee. I am finally in my forever home. My pet-sitters gave me a very cool collar with a special meaning before I left, and it makes me look dashing. My new sister, Susie, is happy that I'm back and she is surprised that I can manage the stairs ! I went up all by myself, took a little snooze on my upstairs bed, and then went down again (with just the teensiest coaxing). And I've been up and down twice since then. Susie and I went for a little walk and now it's back to snoozing on my downstairs bed. Ciao for now.

Woof-woof ! I heard my new Mom has been shopping for me while I'm being pet-sit. A new red tummy warmer AND a wintercoat with a snood ! Good thing too - it's getting too cold for my tastes. I'm going to become a fireplace dog and snooze where I can keep toasty. Coty.

Update

Just a quick update from Coty's babysitters. He has been excellent this week. Coty has pretty much mastered going up the stairs, and now has started to go down them with much more confidence. I am sure that within the week he will be a champ at going to down them.

Coty is such as sweet boy. We are going to miss him, but we know he is going to be spoiled rotten by his new mom. He has a wonderful life ahead of him.

Boy-o-boy, I had fun at my sleepover. I gave my new Mom a run for her money, so to speak, trying to figure out my potty breaks ;-) I'm back visiting my Foster bi-peds until next Sunday, and and will get a little more practice on the stairs. Dewey and Kane sure zip up and down, and so does my new sister Susie. I'm getting the idea but you'd think these humans would have rubber stairs not slippery hardwood. I'll catch on soon. Hope those darned cats don't get fur all over my new bed while I'm gone.

Sleep over!

My new mom is back in town for the weekend so she came and picked me up today. I am going to spend the night at my new home. She will bring me back tomorrow to my baby sitters.

I will get a chance to meet my new cat siblings and check out my new bed and toys. I will tell you all about it when I get back.

Love,

Coty

I am no longer being fostered...

I am being baby-sat!

My foster parents are now my baby sitters! I was adopted by a sweet lady named Christine. She will be out of town for a few days so I will be staying with my foster par-, excuse me, baby sitters!

I think this is great as it will give me the extra time to hang out with my former foster brothers Kane and Dewey. I will also be able to work on the stairs more so I can impress my new mom when she gets back.

I hear I am going to go live with 5 nice kitties and a sister named SusieQ. I already met SusieQ and she seems like she likes to play a lot. I played it real cool around her, but I can't wait to be a big brother.

Some really good pictures were taken 0f me, Kane, and Dewey last night, which I hope will get posted tomorrow.

I am going to sign off for now, but I wish my new mom a good night. I am excited to see her again.

P.S.

I have a new name! I am now Coty!

Mistaken Identity

OK, I thought you should hear it from me first. This morning I went to take Coyote out. As soon as I get out the door I hear howls of laughter from inside. My wife is about to pee herself.

In my haste to get out the door I grabbed Dewey and not Coyote. Given that the 2 look so much alike I did not realize my mistake before it was too late. I will need to double check that tail to make sure I have the correct dog. Coyote's tail is extremely curved, and Dewey's is straight.

Coyote, we call him Yote for short, slept in our room last night and was perfect. He slept peacefully on his mat and never made a peep. So far he is the easiest foster we have done. Not a single accident in the house, he pays no attention to the cats, and he is content to sleep on his mat when I am working around the house.

The lucky family who adopts this dog will get a very special grey. While all greyhounds are sweet, some really stand out. Yote is one of those.

Where's Coyote?

In his foster home!

Today we picked up Coyote from the kennel. He is the tallest greyhound I have ever seen. Coyote is a beautiful brindle boy that looks like our own Dewey. He is very sweet, a leaner, and loves to get attention. He has been perfect with our cats, he just ignores them.

Coyote has very soft fur that feels like the feathers on a baby chick. If you want a hound that is guaranteed to win the sofest fur contest at Greyfest he is your ticket.

We had our first stair training session this evening and it was typical for a grey just off the track. There is some work to be done before he is bounding up the stairs. Coyote ate dinner with gusto and does not seem to be picky. Because he is so tall we are keeping a keen eye on him around the countertops. So far he has responded to our reprimands when his nose gets too curious.

Coyote is the first male that we have fostered. He has already fallen into line with our 2 brindle boys. Come get him before we add a third!

Coyote on his mat...

Not to be confused with Dewey (not for adoption)

Where is she going?

Coyote

This tall boy is so sweet and soooo soft. He walks beautifully on a leash and loves to lean. I love being able to pet his head and shoulders without bending down. No back pain with this wonderful boy. He is so calm and patient and just loves to be loved on. What a great addition he will make to someones home and what an eye-catcher.

I Coulda Been a Contender

...for the softest fur contest.

Do you want to take me home to see how my fur compares?

Coyote Lovely

Certainly NOT Coyote ugly. This boy is a cutie. He seems so sweet & silly I wanted to take him home. He is getting used to the slick floors in the adoption kennels. Coyote looks like he's skating when he first comes out but then starts to walk fairly well. He's a dream on leash even when he got excited, bouncing up & down a couple times, he never pulled. Someone needs to snatch this sweetheart up while he's still there. I think he is quite a catch. Laura

What a Cutie!

Oh my gosh, this is the most adorable dog I've seen in a long time. Talk about a "tall drink of water!" He is so sweet and goofy. He loves to put his head down against you while getting a good ear rub. And he's tall, you don't even have to bend over much. I'm in love with this sweetheart! Eda

He's a strappin' big boy...

Well not so much big, as TALL! And, amazingly, this guy can sit. He is a very friendly and loving dog.
