Dog Stinkhorns - Strange garden tails

Look at what we found growing under a rhododendron. Mushrooms ? A miniature elephant trunk ? Sea creatures on land ? UPDATE: RR from Georgia BotSocs (Botanical Society) identified this for my mom: Dog Stinkhorn !!!!!!! Hah-ha-ha-haa-hee-hee-hee. Isn't that a typical garden find for a dog ???? Usually WE are the ones making the stinkies. Hee-hee-hee.....So much for the drought this year, it doesn't seem like it will ever stop raining. Not that I am Coty complaining. I love the rain, it makes my pasture grass long and soft for napping. Luna and I played real hard in the pasture this morning, Susie and Marty, the Cat, had to stand aside as 140 lbs. of racing greyhounds zoomed by, and by, and by. I was chasing the ball and Luna was chasing me.

Much-Ado-About-Something.

OMG - Luna is soooo smart, my mom asked her if she knew how to sit, and she sat right down !! Kisses and effusive hugs all around. Hmmm, guess I should show my good stuff once in awhile instead of knocking down the wall in the kennel room and getting stuck on the basement side :--) We cruised the garden this morning, everything is getting ready to pop with color...this is a carpet rose, which soon will be laying over completely covered in bouquets of hot pink roses. Our garden is a work in progress, il nostro giardino è i lavori in corso, which is so much fun. We are still adding to the vegetable garden, row-by-row. Two zucchini plants went in this week - and you know what that means....friends will hide in fear once these start producing. Do greyts eat zucchini ? I'll let you know. Arrivederci tutto.

Abbiamo avuti oggi lotti di divertimento. We had lots of fun today. And just missed the rain - it is raining cats and dogs here right now. I was a quiet and respectful guest as is my regal nature, whereas Luna Petunia is a naughty girlfriend. She got tired of playing in the pasture and zipped right through the slats to another fenced area- but everyone noticed the 'new Luna' and her devious ways and she was captured red-hounded. She was strolling around, sniffing things, watching all the visiting Greyts and day dreaming of her racing days. Though she's been retired since 2005 ol' Luna Petunia can run still like the wind. My greyt sister was looking good. We are both happy and tired. Bouna notte.

Cool Coty Reporting that my new sister has settled in. We put one of the Kuranda beds on the back deck this morning and all lounged outside drinking coffee and listening to the birds, while it was still cool. I LOVE COOL COTY weather. I HATE hot weather.

Luna keeps stealing MY dog napping spot and then scrunches the cover all up into a ball, it takes her several minutes to get it just right. Sheesh - girls..... She is a QT - little brown polka-dotted freckles on the back of her ears and also lightly under her white fur. We've been running around like zombies in the dog pasture and after a while I have to flop down and rest. Luna and Susie continue to run like zombies, so I have to get up and join them again because I might miss something. It's soooooo much fun. Gotta Grey - Gotta Run, see ya' at the Farm Meeting. That Van - he is a funny guy. "See ya Crater", Moon walking - huh ! We do have moon flowers planted. Big, white blooms that open only at night. When we were meeting la bella Luna on Saturday, a potential adopter at the kennel said it was so neat to see my white tipped tail and that he's seen several brindles with tipped tails - and GUESS WHAT !?! Luna has a white-tipped tail ! Is that amazing ? ;o Hahahahah-hee-hee -a late Sunday night Cool Coty-ism.

We cha-cha'd the night away. La bella Luna is a player ! She can hop and bow with the best of the dog and cat dancers. It was a mostly uneventful first night, a little pacing because of the weather and missing Patty and her pooches, but this morning all is well. Questa mattina abbiamo fatto una passeggiata ed abbiamo pulito i nostri denti del cane. This morning we took a walk and we brushed our dog teeth !

Sono così emozionante. La Bella Luna e arrivato. I am so excited, the Beautiful Moon has arrived. Our petite bella Luna is just as sassy as Miss Susie. Look how she rooted around in my toy basket and picked out the big knuckle bone to gnaw. We just beat the rain home from the adoption and made a quick pee-pass in the dog pasture. Luna has finished checking out each room, we are napping so we can rock later tonight. It is Saturday night, you know - we are going to let our hair down ;--) ... like GH's have much hair, hee-hee, a Cool Coty joke... and dance some dog cha-cha's to welcome our new sister. Ciao-ciao.
